Git Integration for Jira Cloud has seen some major updates in the last quarter, including new data residency support for the EU and US regions and a BRAND NEW interface for Jira administrators: giving you more control over managing your integrations and repositories directly from Jira.
Let’s dive into the new features and improvements for Git Integration for Jira Cloud:
Atlassian Data Residency Support
As teams and organizations move mission-critical business functions to the cloud, it becomes increasingly important for service providers to address various security and compliance requirements for highly-regulated customers. Staying ahead of compliance requirements determines whether or not they can deliver innovation quickly, efficiently, and effectively.
We have recently significantly invested in our Security and Trust measures including a SOC 2 audit/report and a public bug bounty program with BugCrowd. We’re excited to share that we continue to invest in supporting our customers by offering European Union and USA specific hosting for our best-in-class Git Integration for Jira Cloud product.
EU Region Hosting: AWS Frankfurt
In January, Git Integration for Jira Cloud added support for hosting in the European Union location, specifically hosting in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Frankfurt region. All new customers who trial the Git Integration for Jira Cloud and have their Jira Cloud instances pinned to the EU region will be hosted in the EU region.
US Region Hosting: AWS Ohio
In addition to the EU region, Git Integration for Jira Cloud has a US-specific hosting region for Jira sites pinned to the US. All new customers who trial the Git Integration for Jira Cloud as of March 2022 and have their Jira Cloud instances pinned to the US region will be hosted in the US region.
If you wish to migrate your Git Integration for Jira Cloud hosting to either the EU region or US region, have questions about Git Integration for Jira’s Data Residency support, please contact support.
All Git Integration for Jira Cloud customers who signed up prior to January 2022 are hosted in our Global hosting region, which we host in AWS Northern Virginia (USA).
The enhanced security and hosting features offered by Git Integration for Jira Cloud are just some of many reasons enterprises rely on this tool for improved Git operations.
New Interface for Git Integration for Jira Admins
This update includes a brand new user interface for Git Integration for Jira Cloud administrators to give admins more control over how integration and repository information is organized as well as new stats, logs, and other features to help administrators troubleshoot any issues (contact our support team if you have any questions).
The new interface offers numerous new features for sorting data, viewing the number of connected integrations, repositories, and new options for visually configuring your repos.
Better Integration Management
Managing your integrations in Git Integration for Jira Cloud just got better with a bucket of new options for filtering, organizing, and more.
New Settings for Integration Management
This update includes the better visibility of integration settings to the Manage integrations dashboard:
- Smart commits
- State of indexing triggers for webhooks
- Date of last index
Filter Integrations by Name & Status
From the Manage integrations dashboard in Git Integration for Jira Cloud, you will now see a Status dropdown selector. This tool enables you to filter by which state your integration is in, which can be particularly useful when you have a large number of integrations.
We’ve also added the ability filter integrations by name.
Pause Integrations without Removing
From the same dropdown selector, you can also stop or pause an integration without having to remove it.
Connect Integrations to Repositories
Now, you can select individual or multiple repositories to connect to your integrations in Git Integration for Jira Cloud, rather than adding all repositories.
New Integrations Wizard
Now, admins in Git Integration for Jira Cloud can take advantage of a new wizard that will enable you to add integrations in a streamlined process.
The integrations wizard follows an easy 3-step setup process:
- Select integration type
- Select Git service
- Select repositories
The wizard is very intuitive and makes it clear where you are in the process, guiding you each step through to completion.
The new UI has been designed to ensure administrators have more control over the repositories connected to Jira Cloud.
Better Repository Management
We’ve added more options for managing your repositories through Git Integration for Jira Cloud, including new options for sorting, filtering, reindexing, and multi-selecting repos. Plus, the ability to access indexing logs has been improved and new settings have been added to the Manage repositories dashboard.
Reindex or Disable Individual Repositories
You can now reindex individual repositories, or disable them without removing them.
New Settings for Managing Repositories
Additionally, we’ve added several new features to the Manage repositories dashboard including:
- Smart commits
- State of indexing triggers for webhooks
- Last indexed (shows date of most recent index)
And the status field has been updated with improved accuracy, and now shows a symbol to quickly alert you of the progress.
Improved Access to Indexing Logs
You will love the improvements to Git Integration for Jira Cloud’s indexing logs. Now, the Repository Indexing Log shows only the most-recent 15 lines of the log, allowing you a more clear focus on the most relevant information.
And, you now have the ability to copy these lines of your log to your clipboard, or download the full log.
Psst: we’ve also added this same functionality for managing integrations in Git Integration for Jira Cloud!
You are now able to multi-select repositories from your list in Git Integration for Jira Cloud, allowing you to select all of them, or pick and choose, to apply the following actions:
Filtering for Managed Repositories
We have added a dropdown menu to the Manage repositories dashboard that allows you to filter your integrations, filter by status, and search for the names of repositories.
This can be especially useful if you have a large number of repositories.
Organize Repos by Name, Time, Branches, Commits, or Pull Requests
Say “hello” to better organization! You can now sort your repositories in Git Integration for Jira Cloud by the following:
- Repo name
- Integration name
- Time of last index
- Number of branches
- Number of commits
- Number of pull requests
These significant UI improvements to integration and repository management will help improve your team’s visibility into Git without leaving Jira, giving you more control over how your information is organized and displayed.
